The writer,
and the ground.

Chris Gaskin writes fiction from Pensacola, on the Florida Gulf Coast, where he leads worship and pays attention to the islands, the weather, and the people who stay through both. His stories are set on this coast because it is the one he knows: sugar-white sand, live oaks, and towns that run on a handful of people doing their jobs well. Driftwood Bay is his first novel.

Ordinary Ground Publishing is the small press he started in 2026 to bring those books into the world with care. His literary fiction appears under his own name; his near-future and speculative work appears as C. W. Gaskin; his music is released as Ordinary Ground.

The name of the press is the whole idea: the extraordinary thing is almost always standing on ordinary ground.
